Winter Wonderland…

We had a snow storm this past weekend. It was so much fun. I will share with you some of the images I captured throughout. One of my favorites was this one…I did nothing to it to get that spinning effect. Li’l Foot happened to turn her head as I snapped the picture. I just love it.

Li’l Foot feels great joy whn she catches snowflakes on her tongue…

As you can tell we got a. lot. of snow…

She won’t fit in these boots much longer, I can tell you that for certain…which makes me sad, because I love these boots…(see also blog header)

The first day I brought her out in the snow, she wasn’t so thrilled (I mean she was fine, but just didn’t “get” it), this weekend she found her inner snow bunny and became one with the snow…

(What? No, those aren’t her pajamas she’s wearing under her snowsuit, don’t be silly, also get your eyes checked!)

It looks more official than it was…truth is, putting a plow on the front of a lawnmower tractor is not very officient, although ask LFD and he’ll tell you it was awesome! pfffft!!! Right buddy, you keep telling yourself that! I saw you pull out the snowblower to use instead of your tractor, you can’t fool me!!

The magnolia would very much like to know when spring will be here…

We probably should’ve taken this downa while ago. Li’l Foot asked to “sit” in it this weekend…brrrrrrr

Argyle Cutie Pie…

We went out to dinner with the priest that married us (and baptized Li’l Foot) tonight! He’s such a great priest and friend. We are so blessed to have him in our lives. I took this opportunity to dress Li’l Foot up, since we were going to the church where he was saying Mass before dinner.

I’m no fashion guru by ANY STRETCH of the imagination…but here’s my question…Should she not be wearing the argyle tights too? Is it too much? And I know I know…navy does not go wtih brownbu ,t those shoes are the closest thing we had to something that went with the outfit. The one piece of the outfit missing was the argyle hat. Are you about to vomit argyle for all this argyle going on?

She’s so goofy, isn’t she? Dassy was trying to tell her not to do that with her arms or she’d surely fall on her face and bust up her face and teeth! She didn’t listen, luckily nothing happened.

And this one is one of my favorites…I caught her by surprise walking up behind her, calling her name and snapping a picture when she turned around…

As if to say…”yes mama, what can I do to make your life easier and more pleasant!” HA…yeah right!!! I love you Li’l Foot!!! I loved this photo session with you! Eskimo kisses!

And so we went to dinner with Fr. T.

At one point at dinner, Fr. T was asking LF for kisses while she was sitting across the table and when I asked her to give him eskimo kisses, he was simulataneously asking her for s kiss and she started shaking her head (as if to give him an eskimo kiss), but he didn’t hear me and thought she was shaking her head no to her giving him a kiss (as if she would under no circumstances give him a kiss). We all cracked up!!!

Yesterday was Labor Day which means, pools on the northeast pretty much closed up for the season. My mom’s pool at her complex was one of those pools. If you’ve been tuning in all summer, I’ve given blow by blow updates of the pool excursions. At the beginning of the season, we went to my mom’s pool and were the first ones in the pool area AND in the pool itself. It was brrrrrrrrrrrrchilly!!! Yesterday we were the last ones to leave the pool area. We just had so much fun, and there’s something to be said for just hanging out in a pool by yourselves with no one else around. Hubbie took the opportunity to practice his cannon ball!!! Here look…

Are you sick and tired of these pool pictures yet? Have you been praying for summer to be over so I would just please stop posting pictures of LF in a the pool or at the playground already? Well, you know what comes next, right? PUMMMMMMMMMPKINNNNNNNNNN pictures!!!! Pumpkin patch…w00t w00t!!! Well, that comes after we get home from Hawaii which will be in another month, so you have some time to prepare for that. So here, here are some more pictures of LF at the playground from yesterday…

Practice session # 1 of 5

Today was the day kids in our area started school for this year. I thought in preparation for the impending first day of school for Li’l Foot, I’d take the 1st in a five part series of the 1st day of school practice pictures. I’ve heard many parents this year talking about kindergarten starting up and kindergarten orientation and kindergarten this and kindergarten that and every time I hear someone mention the “K” word, I get all teary eyed and think, oh. my. goodness. that will be me in just a short time!!! It’s got me all worked up already and this big event is still a good 1,825 days away (+/-…I’d give you a definite answer but I don’t have the school calendar plan for 2011)! I know I wasn’t crying this morning, nor do I think I’ll cry next year or the following three years after that, but mark. my. words. 5 years from now I will be a sobbing mess as I watch my little girl get on the school bus and ride off to her first day of kindergarten. So here it is. The first of 5 practice 1st day of school pictures. It couldn’t more clearly define who my little girl is. Just so goofy and fun!!!

You’ll just have to tune in for the next five years to see how much she changes from year to year!!!

Li’l Foot has a stern message for Hurricane Gustav and it’s sister Hurricane Hanna. Li’l Foot would like both to know they are not welcome in the Gulf Coast. Li’l Foot is glaring at you both from the Northeast.

Li’l Foot is giving you “stink eye”!!!

I’d be afraid if I were you!!! I’d be very afraid!!! Li’l Foot’s “stink eye” is no joke!!!

We’re praying for everyone in the Gulf Coast. Please be safe. You’ve been through so much already and I’m just sitting here tonight thinking about bloggers I’ve come to know who live in that area. I’m thankful it’s steering clear of my sister in Alabama, but I’m still hoping everyone else is safe.

Dear Friend,

My heart goes out to you tonight! Tonight I was given the news that you are alone. Tonight you are one. Where once there was two, you now are just one. One heart, one soulmate, one life.

Tonight I was told your partner took his life last week. Tonight I am so sad for you. Tonight I wonder if you are ok. I am finding I can’t stop thinking about you. I can’t stop thinking about the love you both shared for each other. It was always so apparent in the way you spoke about him. Although I never met your partner, I know how much he meant to you in your words you shared with me time after time. And in the memories I saw captured in your photography. I can’t imagine what you are going through. I can’t begin to imagine what would drive your partner to take his life. The grief you must be feeling must be suffocating.

I want to see you. To be there for you. To talk to you. To take you in my arms and hold you tight. To wish I had the right words that could make your pain cease. To assure you, you are not alone. You have so many people who love you and support you. Yet I know it would not be enough. Nothing could be “enough” right now, at this moment for you. “Enough” would only be having your partner back.

I extend my sincerest and deepest sympathy to you. While it will still be a few weeks before I wee you in person, know that I love you. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. Know that you are not alone and your partner will not be forgotten. Know that no matter what he loved you. Do not doubt that for one second. He did not do this because of you. Just know that. It will take time to heal. Time to find some peace with what you have been through in the past few days.

My friend, I am here for you. I am praying for you. I am thinking of you. I am thankful for you and for your life and us being put in each others paths so I was able to become friends with you.

Note: I don’t think my friend even knows about my blog to begin with so chances are he’ll never read this, but I needed to get this out because hearing about this tonight saddened me for my friend. Just please pray for my friend too. He has a long road of healing ahead of him. He did not deserve this at all, and is just one of the nicest guys I’ve known.
