Yesterday I was in my Flickr account checking on some things. On my front page I couldn’t help but notice my recent activity of people who have commented. I checked it out and it seemed I had made a ton of comments on my own photos. I was perplexed. I know that sometimes I have some urges to give myself some pats ont he back, but comment on my own photos on flickr? That’s just crazy talk! Why would I do that? I actually sat there for a moment and treid to think if I did type the comments on there somehow without realizing it. Maybe I sleep walked (nah!). Maybe I got drunk and drunk commented (nah!). Maybe… Well, never mind. I just didn’t do it. I know I didn’t.

So I read through all of them. As I read the first few I thought, well, maybe Pocklock’s hubbie is sstill logged into my account on his computer from when he got in to get some of the pictures I took when Lyla was born. Maybe he’s logged in and doesn’t know it. But as I kept reading they began sounding like things that he just wouldn’t write. But then who was doing it?

I started thinking there was a hacker who figured out my account info and was leaving random comments on my pictures just to screw with me. Comments that were random enough that couldn’t lead me to figure out who it was.

And then I got to really thinking. The only place I am 100% logged in to my Flickr account 24 hours a day is at home. That’s the only place. So I started thinking well, maybe it was my friend Moonshine. She was over on Sunday night and I guess could’ve done it, but when I looked at the time stamp on the comments they were made 32 hours prior to yesterday morning, so that would’ve put them being made sometime before she got to my house, like in the middle of the night between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Well, since the cat and the dog don’t have opposable thumbs and the kid was locked up tight behind the bars on her crib, that left two people, and I know it wasn’t me. So that left LFD! So as soon as I thought that thought out thoroughly, I called him. I asked him if he had been on the computer Saturday night into Sunday morning. He said yes. I asked him if he made some comments on my Flickr pictures. And he hemmed and hawed and finally said yes.

Saturday night we were out making dinner for Pocklock and EHH and watch the Sox game. I guess we got home about 10:30/11. I don’t even remember. When we got home, I was exhausted just from the lack of sleep Friday night, so I went to bed. He stayed up, watched the rest of the game. He didn’t come to bed until 3 a.m. Well, now I know what he was doing until that time.

Okay, so first off, PHEW!!! Thank goodness that mystery is over…I was freaked out for a moment there actually. But second, okay, you don’t know LFD, he doesn’t “do” computers. He may as well not have opposable thumbs either for as much as he doesn’t do computers (heehee, that’s a great mental picture actually!). Seriously though, it takes him 5 hours to type one sentence on a computer, I sit here wondering just how long it took him to make comments on the pictures. And really? He NEVER comments on my pictures. He never even LOOKS at my pictures. HECK he never even reads my blog for goodness sake. I don’t get it. Don’t get me wrong or anything I love it, but I’m just shocked is all. And gosh darn it, he’s funny, he SHOULD comment on our pictures and read my blog and then comment on that too, he’d add a certain personality to both. Those who know him can attest to that! I have my very own hacker! So if you see comments that appear I made them on my own photos on flickr, chances are, it wasn’t me!

I was planning out my lunch strategy this morning and decided I had a hankering for peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I knew I had a jar of peanut butter in my desk at work so I didn’t have to worry about that part, but I needed to bring some strawberry jam in…and bread of course. But I got to thinking. I couldn’t make my sandwich this morning because IEW…pre-made PB&J sandwich would result in a soggy mess 5 hours later and I’d wind up heaving at the mere thought of it, let alone the sight of it. Since I already had the peanut butter at work I just had to package up my jam. I retrieved it from the refrigerator and then went to the left over container cabinet to find a small size container. I found one and then thought to myself, “self? you really must remember to put your lunch bag in the refrigerator at work because you can’t eat warm strawberry jam on a peanut butter sandwich.” It’s totally a rule. I guess I never realized how many things I’m picky about eating only if it’s hot or cold. It got me thinking about all the other things I can’t stand to be one way or the other. You tell me how you weigh in on these things too, I’m interested:

jam? COLD!

pasta? hot! never cold…ick…it totally leaves a bad aftertaste if it’s cold!

milk? cold! i can’t enjoy my cereal unless the milk is bordering on frozen, nor can i enjoy eating cookies and milk unless the milk is frigid! also nice is having a PB&J sandwich with an ice cold glass of milk…ugh…I think about milk and I get kidney stone pain!

pizza? hot! as in…burn your mouth hot!!!

hot dog? HOT! cold hot dogs are gross and probably a health hazard…as if hot dogs aren’t a health hazard to begin with

tomatoes? cold! (with salt)…I can not stand any type of dish requiring cooked slices/pieces of tomatoes, cooked tomatoes are icky (except tomato sauce, but then that’s not whole tomatoes, it’s esentially pureed)!

What am I missing? I know there’s more food products that require a certain temperature to be considered an enjoyable experience. I just can’t think right now…it’s totally my brain going into holiday mode already.

I left work early yesterday (around 3) to go to the doctor. Wait, back up. I have been searching for a general practitioner. I haven’t had one since God knows when. I can’t find one that I like. I will not elaborate on that on the grounds that you may stop liking me because it may appear as so though I am judgmental. I just can’t find one that’s normal and speaks English and has all the qualities I need to feel comfortable talking about my health to. ’nuf said!

So, now I’m sick, kind of. I feel my worst when I’m trying to sleep. What with the drainage problem inside this pretty little strawberry blonde head of mine not functioning properly, I’ve had some restless nights the last few nights. So I bit the bullet and pulled up LFD’s health care provider list yesterday on the interweb. I randomly selected a name of a doctor that sounded relatively normal and called. They didn’t have any availability at that office but did at another location. I was desperate, so I went. I didn’t care if the doctor spoke swahelie…as long as he could fill out a prescription slip for an antibiotic that’s all I cared about.

And so I went. And I was grilled by the nurse. And I filled out the new patient form. And the doctor came in. And his name was Paul Chang. And he was about 80!!! okay maybe he was only 60, but still, old and cratchity!!! And then he grilled me. Allergies?, he questioned. Nope! etc. etc. etc. And then I piped up and said, “Oh, I forgot to mention to the nurse that I’m breast feeding my daughter.” He asked how old she is. I told him “16 months”. He paused for a second, rolled his eyes, twitched, made a snide sniff noise with his shnozz, raised his eye brows in opposing formations and then looked at me over his nose and said, “You can stop that now!” And that’s when I jumped off the examining table and clawed his eyes out and rammed his stethescope down his throat until he begged for his mommy to breast feed him until he was 90!!! said, “soon!” and rolled my eyes right back at him and kicked him in the groin! Okay, no I didn’t kick him in the groin, but I wanted to! What right, what flippin right did he have to inform me of when I can or should stop breast feeding my child!!! He knows nothing about me! He knows nothing about my child! For all he could know and all the information he had gathered in the short 2 minutes we had known each other, my daughter could be surviving only on breast milk alone for whatever reason and it could be the only thing she can eat!!! (It’s not and she’s fine and well nourished and I only nurse her once a day, usually in the morning because I’m too damn lazy to go get a “baba” from the refrigerator for her first thing in the morning, and because I’m sure a trip down the stairs that early in the morning will send me tripping down the stairs!!!) After hearing my response to him, he gave off one of those fake snickerings and proceeded to examine my ears and throat and lungs.

THAT will be the LAST time I see him. Forever I will be on the hunt for an actual good general practitioner!! What’s your worst doctor encounter!!!

We live in a no crossing zone! Did you know that? No it’s not some weird local traffic pattern sign or anything normal like that. It is actually part of our house rules. Hubbie has a chair. Hubbie’s chair faces the television head on. Hubbie likes to sit in this seat. And usually if he’s not reclined in it, he likes to cross his ankle over his opposite knee and put a pillow on his lap (like the kind of pillow that you sleep with under your head – I don’t know, we’ve just always had this kind of pillow in our living room for tv watching for some reason, it adds a certain level of comfort). Well LF apparently has a rule in the house. No crossing your ankle over your opposite knee. The minute LF sees her daddy sit down and cross his ankle over his opposite knee she will walk over to him and pull his leg off by grabbing his pant leg or if she’s feeling ambitious she will wrap both arms around his calf and pull his leg down. LFD will then usually cross the other ankle up over the other opposite knee. And LF will then pull his leg down in either manner as previously stated. This cycle goes on and on and on and on for several minutes until LFD realizes he will not win the battle and just stops trying to put either ankle up on the opposite knee. We’re not quite sure what the fascination is with ensuring daddy isn’t comfortable, but whatever the reasoning it’s darn funny. I’ll have to get some video of it so you can also enjoy it.

Our bed has blue sheets on it. I sleep with 2 pillows. A little normal sized pillow that I stole from a hotel room while on a trip in college to the guys volleyball conference in Virginia (I was their manager) and (shut up its comfy, I know it’s from a hotel but I loved it and needed to have it. And then I also sleep with a king sized pillow that I put next to me/under the top half of my body.

Last night when I went to sleep both pillows were adorned in their blue pillow cases. This morning when I woke up the king sized pillow next to/under me was white. As in, shed it’s pillow case some time in the middle of the night and all that was left was the pillow all nekked and stuff!!! I don’t know how this happened. The pillow stripped itself in the middle of the night. And that’s not easy to do. A king sized pillow just fits inside the pillow case and the sheets are not that easy to wiggle out of. (These sheets we have that I bought this last time are not the best on earth and are kind of like glorified sand paper.)

So I don’t know how this happened, but apparently there are strippers in our bed now and not the kind that a man would get any pleasure out of. It’s so weird, I have no idea how this happened.

P.S. It is now 7:30 and LF just woke up. She went to sleep at 8:30 last night. That’s 11 hours people…ELEVEN!!! Holy crap!!!

I have what I consider to be a bad habit. In fact in thinking about writing this blog post I even utilized this bad habit. I need to come clean about this bad habit so that maybe I can come to terms with it and do something to change it.

So what is this bad habit?

Almost every day I think about what I’m going to blog about next. It might even possibly be a sickness. It sounds simple enough, but it’s not. I find myself thinking about blog post entries and what I would write if I were to be in front of a computer at that very moment. I conjure up the entry in my mind from start to finish. I obsess…literally OBSESS about what the title would be!!! I think to myself, “no, that title would be too boring…too vague…too this…too that!” And then I finally stumble upon just the right title. The whole thing is composed from title to entry. And that’s all well and good, but then there’s only one problem…IT’S IN MY HEAD…AND NOT TYPED OUT!!!

I find myself thinking, okay I’ll write it first thing when I get home and it’ll be fresh and I’ll post it and then my readers will have something to read from me today. But hen I actually GET home and this has to be done and that has to be done and I have a toddler who. is. into. everything. and I don’t get my chance to write and then it’s not fresh anymore and mommy brain kicks in and forget what I was going to write about. It’s not that I forget the composition of the post in my head…or the title. I forget it all…topic and all!!! Gone!!! This mommy brain stuff kills me!!! It puts a damper on thinking!!! What’s the point of thinking if I’m just going to forget my thoughts?

So I’ve come to a conclusion. I’m just going to stop blogging, so I don’t have to compose things in my head anymore and then inadvertently forget them and kick myself in the head (if I could actually reach my head with my foot, that is!) Okay, no, I’m not actually going to stop blogging. There has to be a more reasonable solution to the problem. And the only one I can think of is to carry a small note pad around with me, attached to my belt loop so that if I have a entry in mind with that. perfect. title. I can jot it down right then and there. So what if I’m in a meeting with our VP…they’ll just think I’m a good meeting notes taker. God help me if they ask to copy my notes or remember what happened in the meeting!!! But I’m willing to give this method a try, unless you can think of a better way to break this bad habit. I’m all ears. How do you think of something to blog about while you’re driving in the car or whatever you may be doing that has you away from a computer and then remember your thoughts later when you’re in front of the computer?

And yes, I’ve literally lost sleep over trying to remember what it was I wanted to blog about! Because gosh darn it…that topic was funny..and if I could only remember the details I’d have a readership of more than 2!!!

Why is D the letter of the day? Because I’m a total:

dingbat

dillweed

dinglehopper

doofus

dork

dweeb

Do you notice anything about those words? Like maybe the fact that they all resemble a description of someone who did something DUMB, perhaps? Well then they all would describe me today.

It all started at lunch when I decided to go heat up my lunch in the cafeteria at work. I put my food in the microwave and then waited. As I waited I realized I hadn’t brought my cup of water downstairs with me for lunch. Fortunately, I thought, okay well I’m too lazy to go back upstairs so I’ll just et a fountain drink from the cafeteria. When I entered the food area there was a ginormous line formed for the register, which I was not about to wait on. So I decided I would just go to the vending machine to get a beverage. I sized up the vending machine deciding what I wanted. Sierra Mist, yes that would be my beverage of choice. Okay, It would be $1.25. Insert dollar bill…insert 25 cents (why the hell isn’t there a “cents” sign on the computer keyboard?) in the slot. Ok, what number is the Sierra Mist? Oh, that’s easy, there are three…count them THREE rows that I could choose from and their letter/number combos were D7, D8 & D9. I pushed the D and then helplessly watched as my finger then, in the blink of an eye, pushed the 4 button…NO NO NO NO..I didn’t want that!!! REDO!!! I want a redo please!!! Clunkity thunk thunk thunk!!! The bottle from row D4 fell to the vending machine tray at the bottom of the machine. What? What’s that you ask? What was in row D4? Well, if I were 12 I would’ve been in heaven and then I would’ve had to endlessly explain to my mom that “I made an honest mistake, I really did mean to get the soda with the lesser sugar content, no really mom, I swear I did, it just happened by accident, but can I have this anyway?”!!! Anyway, what did I wind up having to bring to the lunch table with all my coworkers sitting there examining my choice of beverage? A friggin Hawaiian Punch. For goodness sake…honestly? Why? Something else! Anything else! Bleeeech!!! And also ICK!!! In the day I would’ve loved that mistake…today? Not so much!!! But I drank it and then I proceeded to go for a speed walk around the outside of our company complex FOUR TIMES!!! Each time around is about a 1/2 mile or so!!!! And with all that sugar? I could’ve gone another 40 laps!!!

So what about you? Have you ever gone to the vending machine and pressed the buttons and not gotten what you expected? I’ve had to beat up the vending machine before because the package of snacks got stuck by the last millimeter of package between the spiral and the ledge!!! Clearly I won!!! No vending machine would get the best of me…until today!!!

There’s this girl I know. It’s really annoying to talk to her. I usually have lunch with her. What’s so annoying? She talks with her hands, but that’s not the annoying part. The annoying part is, while she talks with her hands she flutters her fingers around. She does this to adjust her rings which have flipped around her fingers so that the top isn’t on top, it’s facing her palm. It wouldn’t be so bad if it happened once per lunchtime, but it’s every time she has something to say. It irks me so much I can’t watch when she talks anymore. Seriously? Why doesn’t she just put her two hands together in her lap and adjust them using each hand fixing the rings on the opposite hand.

This isn’t my typical long post, but I’ve been wanting to post about this topic and find out what annoying habits you find in people? Things that you just can’t stand when you are near them.

You really don’t want to know because it’s more of the same…puke…diarrhea…cha…cha…cha…puke…puke…puke…puke!!!

What else? Oh yeah…LF’s 14 month birthday came and went and I was covered in her puke and diarrhea and didn’t have a chance to write it. It’ll come…hopefully before she turns 15 months old.

Hmmm…what more is there? Oh I took LF to the doctor tonight because of the pukerrhia-fest 2008 that has been ongoing and what did they do? Well, nothing…just like I knew they would. I scripted it, but hey she hadn’t eaten all day, totally refused and I couldn’t take it anymore.

Oh, and I’m writing this sitting at our computer desk with LF in the outdoor backpack. Why? Because she loves this thing, and begs for it. We hide it? She finds it! And. will. not. take. no. for. an. answer. I’m waiting for her to puke down my back as I sit here to be honest with you. Because that would be true poetic justice.

I’m really kind of hoping that LF gets better before this weekend. We have some fun plans and I have a beautiful dress I bought LF for Easter that I’m hoping she can wear without threat of pukerrhia-fest 2008 joining the festivities and ruining the dress. We also have an Easter Egg Hunt to go to at my aunt’s house on Saturday which would be so much fun and LF would be able to see the farm animals and that would ROCK! Hopefully we can make it come together.

Oh and, daycare sent a note home today that LF is not allowed back without a doctor’s note which I did get tonight but I’m hesitant to use it because I think daycare hates me at this point. She basically has the bug that everyone had last week, and because it’s lasted longer than one day in LF (because the other older kids only had it for a day and were done) the director is concerned. I tried to tell her and then confirmed with the doctor that LF is much younger than the other kids and that the bug is presenting itself differently (longer) because she is smaller than the other kids. I am so frustrated about the whole thing I can’t tell you. I cried all the way from daycare to work this morning. Oh, did I tell you why? Because I nursed LF at 4:30 this morning (in our bed) and both of us promptly dozed off and I awoke to a bath of puke at 5:30 all over me and her and our bed. Why hadn’t I put blankets down? Oh, because this bug is effing with me and likes to not come out at any other time of day and so I thought she had shook the bug out yesterday and thought it was gone so I didn’t put towels down as a just in case precaution. Stupid me!

Now, it’s time to pray for a good night without puke and praying for solid poops. I still don’t know what I’m going to do tomorrow. My guess? I’ll probably have to stay home with LF in the morning and wait for hubbie to come home so I can go to work. I hate that I started a new job in January and have had to deal with all of this. I feel awful about it. There are no words, luckily I do have an understanding boss who is also a mother and “gets it”!

Please pray for us that this ends soon, I don’t know how much more I can take.
