That is only one of the bathrooms we painted.  I walked into the other bathroom to take it’s picture and it got embarassed and pulled the shower curtain to hide from the camera. (We might’ve used that bathroom as a drop zone for some of the stuff that we took out of our room and still haven’t settled everything back into our room.

Let me tell you, painting with a toddler to keep entertained is HARD!  She did relatively well, however the cable company decided last night and today would be a splendid time to have a service outage in our area so while we have a TiVo and a TV in our bedroom, the only things on the TiVo she could’ve watched to stay occupied were 11 episodes of Guiding Light.  And, well, that show is AWFUL these days…I can’t even stand the thought of them living on my TiVo taking up space…let alone make LF watch them.  Which by the way would only have occupied her attention for negative .2 seconds!  So we had other “things” to keep her occupied…books, stuffed animals, rattles, you name it, we tried to occupy her with it.

So anyway, the cable outage…WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT TO ME ON A SUNDAY.  I don’t care for TV much these days, I think it’s just more noise that I don’t need in my life, but SUNDAY..SUNDAY I want to watch TV because I want to watch my “boys” and their tushies running into the end zone!!!  This was so not the day to have a cable outage!  Oh well, it was kind of nice to just listen to the iPod actually!

So here’s how our rom came out.  By the time I thought to take BEFORE pictures…half the room was already painted, so oh well.  And so you’ll just have to imagine the walls were an off white, the same as the ceiling actually.

Oh…that huge canister on top of the armoire in the far left corner…that is FULL of LFD’s hats!!!  The man has ONE HEAD (uhhhhhh…), why does he need so many hats?  I will never udnerstand!

And here’s the other side of the room…

As you can see, our bed takes up the entire room!  Argh!!!  Oh, and I usually do have a dust ruffle, but the one I had on there this morning had seen better days, so I need to replace it.  Oh, you didn’t NOTICE our bed didn’t have a dust ruffle and you could care less if I had one on our bed or not and I’m being ridiculous for even being self conscious about being judged for not having one on there in the first place?  Oh, ok!  Well then, never mind!!!

So there you have it.  Our room…the color is Behr paint and is called “wave crest”!!!  It’s a very very light shade of blue.

P.S. If anyone wants to buy our bed frame…have at it…we want to get a different one that isn’t as ginormous in our room.

P.P.S.  Stay tuned…LFD took off this entire week to paint the rest of the house a color called “pecan sandies”.  There’s just no way we would ever get to paint the rest of the house with a toddler running around, so he had to take off work.

There…okay…now that you’ve moved over and made some room, please to introduced you to our NEW fresh-out-of-the-box Mr. Herman Dishwasher and Mrs. Microwave Convection-Oven (look at Mrs. Convection-Oven getting all modern hyphenating her last name…isn’t she so independent and cute?)

I shouldn’t forget to credit our friend WiNy for working for GE and getting us the friends and family discount on these shiny new and OMG I love them appliances!!!  They arrived the week before last and how hard was it to have them sit in our front foyer in boxes while we slaved cleaning dishes by hand on Thanksgiving…it was TORTURE people…sheer torture!!!  But now they are all happy and installed in there new rightful places in our home and I am so excited.  Can ya tell?  You HAVE. NO. IDEA.  Truly no idea how much I’ve wanted Mr Dishwasher in my life.  Okay, so he’s a little small, but it’s not what’s on the outside that counts, it’s what he can do ont he INSIDE that truly makes him a special special friend!!!  He makes me happy.  Mrs. Convection Oven is really the hubbie’s new toy as he does the most cooking.  Oh but how he cursed that she was still in the box on Thanksgiving day and his sweet potatoes weren’t ready when the rest of dinner was ready because she wasn’t installed yet. (Which reminds me I really should write up my Thanksgiving and Boston recaps soon, huh?)

But right now, this post is all about our new GE products!  Do you like them?  We love them.  I’m stopping at the store for some dishwasher detergent tonight and I’m gonna make a lot of dishes and put Mr. Dishwasher to the test.  I’ve never had to buy dishwasher detergent before, anyone have any suggestions? Please? Oh, don’t be bitter because you’re not our bestest friends anymore…we still love you it’s just you don’t clean my dishes or cook my food for me (usually) and those are very important qualities in determining best friend status dontcha know!!!

I grew up with a dishwasher, God I hated loading and emptying that thing, but NOW/ In stark contrast to having had to clean dishes since hubbie and I moved in together in 2002…a whole 5 + years!!!…I’ve learned to appreciate the loading and unloading of a dishwasher.  Think you’ve got it bad loading or unloading the dishwasher?  Clean 5 hundred and eleventy thousand dishes over the course of 5 + years…you’ll be thankful for that dishwasher!!! A new found respect I tell ya.  (Sorry I gave you all those problems about loading and unloading when I was growing up mom!)  Shoulda just made me wash them by hand for a week and I woulda changed my attitude. (Remind me to do this when Li’l Foot gives me guff about loading and unloading Herman the dishwasher okay?)  So anyway, hubbie has never had a dishwasher…EVER!  We had one in the second apartment we lived in but it never worked so it doesn’t count.  Hubbie is totally accustomed to washing dishes by hand…iew!!!

Last night when I got home, the appliances were all installed and gleaming (thank you David!).  We had dinner and then I went to put my dish in the dishwasher.  I then proceeded to clear of fthe F#@$%ing drain board (i hate those things) so that I could toss it out and hubbie says “what do you think you’re doing?” I said, “I’m getting rid of this thing, we have a dishwasher now, we don’t need this anymore”, he totally fought me on it saying, what if you have one dish to clean, you’re just going to put that one dish in the dishwasher and wait for the dishwasher to fill up and the plates to be gone before you run it?” Uh…yeah!!!! DUH!   He then proceeded to tell me we didn’t have detergent and within seconds hubbie was standing over the sink washing dishes. bwa ha ha ha ha!!!  Hell if I was gonna wash them…that’s what Herman is for!!!

I can see this is going to take a little getting used to for hubbie.  Poor guy has had 37 years of dishwashing…that puts my 5 + to shame doesn’t it?
