Company holiday parties where your spouse isn’t invited to save you from making an ass of yourself!

Getting to the holiday party where they decide sticking a label on your back with a famous person’s name on it and you have to guess who you are by asking others a sequence of questions in which the answer can only be YES or NO!
Do you know what’s awesome?
Ordering a drink from the bartender to cope with the pressure of trying to guess who you are!
Do you know what’s awesome?
Someone figuring out what they are to put everyone else out of their misery. And finding out the label on your back said “Donald Trump”. And not being even close to guessing that name at all.
Do you know what’s awesome?
Getting assigned seating where you have to find your name tag.
Do you know what’s awesome?
Finding your place card with your name on it, breathing a sigh of relief when you realize you are seated next to your department coworkers.
But do you know what’s even more awesome?
Almost sitting down and having the CEO of the company who is sitting across the table and over one spot from you ask for you to switch seats with the CFO who is sitting next to you, across from him…because they talk all the time and the CEO wants a different mug to look at than his CFO’s for once.

Sitting across from your CEO!
Do you know what’s also awesome?
Being a lightweight drinker at your company Holiday Party.

Not being able to see straight after 3 glasses of wine, but not realizing the limit was 3 until you’ve reached 5. WTH? When did I become someone who couldn’t have a few glasses of wine?

Realizing you have to drive in a few short hours and being responsible enough to cut yourself off and switch to water.
Do you know what’s awesome?
Starting off a conversation with your British CEO about the UK and work ethics so that you can turn the conversation around to be about convincing the CEO to instill summer hours.
Do you know what’s awesome?
Being self conscious about the “Yankee swap” gift you broguht in and dissecting every facial expression and movement of the person opening your gift. She liked it…phew. She might’ve been hiding in the corner hiding the box containing the 2 movie tickets to AMC movie theaters, 2 bottles of diet coke, a box of sour patch kids, box of swedish fish, a bag of M&M’s and a box of Reese’s pieces…so no one would see it and take it from her.

Having 27 numbers in the Yankee Swap and being number 26!
Do you know what’s equally awesome?
Taking someone’s waffle iron who hid it under the table so no one could take it!
Do you know what is genuinely AWESOME?
Having a friend like Cass who doesn’t live too far from the company holiday party so you can crash her place and take over the guest room!

Not being the person who really made a fool of themself. Which I wasn’t…thank GOD!
