Today was so much fun. As I woke up this morning I thought about how I should just motivate and get our act together before we had to leave so that Li’l Foot could have some time to play in the snow. In actuality, I knew she would not be satisfied with being shoved int he car without stopping in the yard to play in the snow. So that’s what we did. She had great fun. And I loved watching her.
Eating the snow off the pumpkins (no worries, there is no yellow snow in the vicinity)…

And running back and forth making tracks in the snow…

And I was able to get some other shots as well like this one of the fence top…

And this of our house number on a milk jug LFD painted…

And some pine bush which I love the hard focus centered on the interior of the stem…

And a tree in our yard looking up into the blue sky…

Not only did we get to play in the snow this morning though, we also got to drive in the early morning hours so we were able to see the beauty of a heavy sticky snow fall in the trees and mountains…

It really was beautiful and all of these pictures were taken through the windshield or my passenger side window…

And we were driving about 60 MPH at the time…

And we had a cute baby in the backseat who reminded me of Amelia Earhardt…

There was tumbling at my niece’s birthday party…

And rainbow cake that will make me poop butterflies later…

And we sung happy birthday to my niece at her party!
All in all a very good day. I was uber-germophobe but all in all a really good day with my family.
But when we drove home we saw this…

And you just couldn’t possibly know how excited that makes a little girl. A little girl…in the back seat of our car. She was giddie with excitement. And when we got home and then ran back out and took Li’l Foot with me, you have no idea how seeing people’s houses and trees outside, decorated with lights and blow up Santa Clauses and snowmen…among others, makes her absolutely beside herself. She squeals with excitement and Christmas spirit. I’m just gonna go ahead and put this out there. My little girl…may just be the thing my soul needed this Christmas. My little girl may very well have saved Christmas for me. Seeing her excitement and wonderment is one of the most wonderful gifts I could possibly be given this year. This year, more than any other Christmas she’s celebrated with us thus far, is by far the best! She is loving every second of it. And she just can’t wait to put our tree up. And I can’t wait to do it with her and share the experience with her and all the traditions. Also, wonder of wonder, she has agreed to go sit with Santa for a picture. Once I told her yesterday that LylaBean went tot he mall and had her picture taken with him, she was all about doing it too. So what if I left out the little detail that LylaBean screamed through it according to eye witness reports. What Li’l Foot doesn’t know certainly won’t hurt her…so Shhhhhh!!!
Oh, and I also thought of another moment in which Li’l Foot made me laugh yesterday. Every now and then, as married couples do, who have children, we get into a heated discussion. Sometimes LFD and I depending on the stance we each take, can be, shall we say, passionate about any particular topic. And when this happens, occasionally one of us will tell the other to “Settle down, (insert name here)!” So last night I was heating up some dinner for Li’l Foot and myself since LFD was working overtime. I couldn’t make it cook any faster but Li’l Foot decided she’d harp on me as I was cooking in the form of badgering. I hit my breaking point. I just needed quiet. so I told her to “STOP! (And there might’ve been a heavy sigh and an ARGH in there)!” No sooner did I say it, she turned to me and said, “Settle! Down! Peggy!” She toddled off, and I got whiplash from turning around so fast. She didn’t even bat an eyelash. She even uttered more of the same phrase saying, “Settle! Down! Sean!” It certainly made me stop to think…and it’s just one more way she definitely keeps us in check…that’s for sure!

I love the pine branch close up, too! How cool! And I love the photos you were able to catch on the highway. I miss seeing the thin branches covered in a delicate white. And, of course, your little aviatrix!
