Ok, for those reading in your readers…pop on out…I know, I know, it’s hard to leave the comfort of your feed reader, but trust me, this is worth it. This is BIG! Go on, click on out of your reader, stretch your legs, take a deep breathe and see what’s new around this here blog.
Are you here?
Okay, great!!! Thanks for being here!
Welcome to the new, the redecorated, the NEWLY NAMED (see above and make a note of it…no pun intended) blog. You know how I mentioned in this post that I wanted my own domain name? One without the “.wordpress” in the URL? Well, it’s become a reality thanks to this fantastic lady!
All I had to do was come up with a name. HA! ALL I HAD TO DO! That’s funny! I’m a Libra, remember? No decision is an easy one. The train of thought on this is a long one. Ready? Here’s how I got to www.footnotables.com
I had www.lilfoot2007.wordpress.com
But that was a very shortsighted way of naming my blog back in 2007 when I reinvented myself.
What if I had another baby? (I’m not pregnant for the record)
I didn’t want that baby to grow up thinking if was all about Li’l Foot.
And a blog named lilfeet? Nah, Li’l Foot’s Daddy’s feet aren’t small and I write about him.
I enlisted help (hi pocklock)
The mere mention of moving in any other direction other than something with the “lilfoot” branding in it was strictly forbidden.
I thought about 2 names in particular.
Either okolemaluna.com (which means bottom’s up, in Hawaiian)
Or peekfreens.com (which are these cookies I had as a kid that you can’t get in a store anymore, you have to order online)
Note to self, order some peekfreans.
I liked the peekfreens idea because their slogan was “Very serious cookies” and I could play on those words.
But…
I’d be committing internet suicide essentially.
I’m known by all of 2 people in this innernetz thing as “lilfootsmommy”. (Hi my two readers)
But name my blog lilfootsmommy.com?
No!
Again, shortsighted.
So I put out a call to action in the form of an email to some trusted advisers…that went something like this…
“HEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPP! P.S. I love you!”
I got some feedback, but they had to give it some thought.
But I had a IM conversation with this awesome girly.
One thing led to another.
She mentioned relating it to foot/feet.
I thought of walking and searched for “keepwalking.com”. It took me to www.johnniewalker.com …Hee!
Ideas were tossed around like a hot potato.
And then she said…”what about something spinning off “foot notes”? then a potential lil foot sibling would just need some sort of foot-related nickname…”
Foot Notes! I loved the idea!
I searched for footnotes.com, didn’t seem taken, but it was!
And then I searched for www.footnotables.com and alas…we had it!!!
And this new baby was born (FIGURATIVELY SPEAKING…#I’mnotpregnant #yesI’msure)
So I’ve been playing with it tonight. Recreating a new header image. Picking a new template. Creating my side bar. It’s a work in progress. I really would like it more simple and less boxy, but it’s way better than what it was.
And SERIOUSLY…I HAVE MY OWN URL NOW!!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you Cass!!!
I certainly did not expect to receive anything on my outrageous Christmas list. And it’s not even December yet!!! Christmas came early!!! So excited!
So please, update your blog rolls (all two of you), and update your google reader, your feed burner, etc. etc. etc. However it is you do what you do to keep up in the blog world, please update yourself to my new URL (SQUEEEEEE). (Mom, don’t forget to update your bookmark at the top of your web page…love you!)
My new URL is http://www.footnotables.com
Each time I write here it is for Li’l Foot (and any brothers or sisters, God willing). Each post is a footnote of our life as a family. All “notable” goings on or happenings in our lives is documented here. I may not consistently blog every day, but I do this with heart, so that someday our kids can read about our little family and how we did it.
Again, thank you, Cass…you are an amazing friend!!! I appreciate what you have done for me.

I’m so glad that I could take one of those things off the list for you. Love!
So apparently the secret to Libras making a decision is to work in a pair? Would that be because we balance each other out? Now I know who to text when I am out to dinner & can’t decide what I want to order. =P
YAY!!! Love it!!!
Great new name and awesome header!
