Last year, as you many or may not recall I updated at least every week with pictures of Li’l Foot from the apple orchards, or foliage, or something. Anything. I love fall. It’s probably my favorite time of year. I don’t know that I could move out of the northeast because I think I’d go through Autumn withdrawals. When my brother moved away from the northeast in ’91 to Lake Tahoe, he said he missed the fall foliage. See? I could never do it. I’d be crushed. Autumn wouldn’t feel like Autumn if it weren’t spent picking apples, strolling through the pumpkin patch, eating sugared cider donuts or sipping some hot apple cider. It just wouldn’t be the same.
This year, Autumn was so beautiful. And I feel like it went by way too fast. It felt like we got back from Hawaii and the leaves waited for us to get home before losing their leaves and then all of a sudden they were gone. Poof! And then it was over. But it didn’t pass without a couple trips to the apple orchard, I was just awful at posting each trip. And I shouldn’t have been. This year we had an extra added bonus. We had Lyla and Pocklock and SuperDan73 to join us.
The first trip to an apple orchard was over in CT. We met the Pocklock family there along with Pocklock’s mom and step dad. A good time was had by all. You might remember a few weeks ago, the PhotoHunt theme was scary and I posted a picture of bees. That picture was taken at that apple orchard. Here are some other pictures I got that day. I figure it’s about time I posted them, since this really is my favorite part of the year.
Lyla (little punkin) and her grandma…

Lyla and her daddy…

Li’l Foot in her stroller…

Close up of the Bean (she’s so snuggly in her daddy’s Bjorn)…

Sea of yellow mums…

Squash…

Driving the tractor…I expect next year Bean and Li’l Foot will disagree over who drives the tractor first!

Closeup of LF on the tractor…(her eyes look kinda cool in this picture, huh!)

Dressed appropriately for apple picking in her apple outfit, right?

The Pocklock family…

Li’l Foot loved playing leap frog with the pumpkins but it usually wound up with a scene like this one…

Getting ready to leap frog…

Poser…

Too damn cute not to post…

LF loves her auntie and ran off charging toward her…

Well said…

And “have fun” we did…

And then we posed some more…

And we caught our shadows…

Pocklock’s EHH is a babywearing daddy and a Red Sox lover…

And then we got down to business…
Apple picking…

And apple eating…

I’ll need to show you a picture take of me much like this one…

I couldn’t resist the urge to show you…(and Li’l Foot just saw this picture on the computer screen without seeing the picture of her previously, and when I asked her who it was, she said it was her.) The similarities are eerily frightening!

Li’l Foot loved runnin through the orchard…

Here’s Li’l Foot and her daddy…

Here’s a picture of the Pocklock family walking in the orchard enjoying a Saturday afternoon…

Pocklock looks serious, but she was really just eating an apple…

My girl strolling through the orchard…

Oh look, there’s a picture of me…don’t see those very often…I love this picture of our little family…

So that was our Saturday, October 4th. We decided it was so crowded we would go the next day to another orchard, earlier in the day. We had a little bit better luck…
I snapped this one alongside the road on our way to the orchard…

Li’l Foot milking the cow…

And Pocklock and Bean…

Patriot fans…

Li’l Foot with the flowers…

The sunflower against the bright blue sky…

We wound up pilfering that little ghord by accident…oops…

Pink mums…

Li’l Foot reaching out to the flower…

Li’l Foot amidst the flowers…

And then Auntie Moonshine arrived…

Oh the things she knows about me and is friends with me anyway!!!
Li’l Foot loves all her aunts and aunties…

Li’l Foot sitting on a hay bale…

LF lost in the pumpkin patch maze (not really)…

watching the duckies in the pond…

One of my favorites…

“Momma, I’m gonna go move the tractor to the south pasture…ring the dinner bell”…

Watching the goats and duckies…

This one’s for Eric in Wisconsin…

I helped her pick out those shnazzy glasses…aren’t I good at picking out glasses?

Playing with the bunny rabbits…

Oh goodness…she’s graduated to the big girl swings…she couldn’t do that at the beginning of the summer?!?!?! yikes!!!

closeup on the swing…

That picture in the header of my blog was taken during this mommarazzi shoot, this is just a different angle of that picture…she’s since gotten a new pair of Chuck Taylors since she outgrew the old ones in this picture…

THIS? This is my favorite!!!!

Fallen leaf that people looked at me funny for getting so close to the ground to take this picture…

Stop me if I posted these already…

Or don’t…

But isn’t she cute (I might be biased)…

My sister sent us this outfit for Li’l Foot from Alabama…

I put that outfit on Li’l Foot, she settled her self into it, looked down at herself and said “cute!!!” Yes sweetie, those were my sentiments exactly!!!
So that was our fall. We had a blast! Our autumn was full of color and a couple outings to the apple orchard. It was definitely more challenging to take a good picture of Li’l Foot with the pumpkins seeing as how she defines perpetual motion and all! I hope you’ve enjoyed viewing the pictures as much as I’ve enjoyed reliving our fall season by posting this.
What to look forward to for winter…
I believe this year we are considering going to cut down our own tree from the tree farm. We’ll see how that adventure turns out. Something tells me they are more expensive that way. We’ll probably wind up at Stew Leonard’s, which will be okay too. I don’t know when we’re doing the treet hing. Perhaps in a week or two. Until then…here..have a bunny…

I didn’t get by everyday to view your snails, but the ones I did visit were fun. I did think of you while visiting my daughter in Albuquerque for Thanksgiving. While prowling through some antique/vintage stores I came across a snail that I think you would have loved and I started to get it for you but then realized there were two problems 1) it weighted about 10 pounds because it was about the size of an iron and it was made of cast iron and wood 2) it was over my budget. But I did think of you and will everytime I see a snail.
I will be back to visit you though not for snails anymore, but because I have fallen in love with a little girl you call Lil’ Foot. I want to watch her grow. (That’s the grandmother in me.)
These were an amazing set of pictures.
I seriously have blackmail on you girl! But don’t worry, I will take those secrets to the grave. Oh, and thanks again for the help with those glasses, even though I made you stay there for 2 hours while I agonize over which pair to get. Love you!
Love the picture of Lil Foot and her dad eating the apples! Oh, and the one of her in the cow cutout. So cute! And the apple dress is adorable too!
And lyla-bean…awwww. she does look all snuggly!
