Every night it’s the same routine. I get home at about 5 and then…
Greet the family…
Hugs and kisses and snorgling…
Dinner perparations…
Eat dinner…
Possibly have dessert…
Bath time for Li’l Foot…
Story time for Li’l Foot…
Bed time for Li’l Foot…
All this in about 2-1/2 to 3 hours time.
Last night during bath time…don’t worry this story does not include the words “Kaboom” or “poopie” in it! So anyway, last night during bath time Li’l Foot and I made our way upstairs. It’s always a struggle once we’re upstairs and she’s headed for the bath tub to get her to sit on the potty. She’s so excited about the bath, she can’t think past that. Last night though, I changed the routine up at bath time. Usually I turn the water on as soon as we get up there, andlet it fill while she sits on the potty. I didn’t do that last night. I put her on the potty and I sat on the edge of the bath tub and said, “I will turn that water on when you pee!” I was optimistic, but not hopeful that my new tactic would work. It did work though! Almost seconds after I uttered those words, I heard her tinkling on the potty. I try not to acknowledge when she does something on the potty, at the very moment she’s “doing” something. I think if you acknowledge at that moment it distracts the potty training toddler and they will stop what they are doing, possibly cutting their session short. So I try to wait for my positive reinforcements and accolades until she’s really done! I also sometimes won’t even look at her, because even raising my eyebrow in the slightest will cause her to shift her attention off her task. Usually the positive reinforcements and accolades include “good job” or “good girl” or “yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, you went poopie/peepee on the potty”…you get the idea. Well, I guess last night I wasn’t quick enough with the accolades. The second she finished tinkling and I didn’t turn my head to look at her and I heard her pipe up and say, “JA-BOB!!!” Which in toddler speak is “Good job!!!” I cracked up laughing! She totally gave her self props for peeing on the potty!!!
More and more lately, she’s saying and doing the funniest stuff. I love this age (I think, I reserve the right to change my mind at any given moment)!!!

Sounds like you may be the perfect candidate for a do-n-slide.

HAHAHAHAHA, that’s not what you were saying on Sunday afternoon… (about how you love this age)..
Loooove you!
She is definitely at the age of comic relief. We used to laugh SO. HARD. when I did daycare. They say & do stuff that is so funny. And their timing is impeccable. You could be be a split second away from pulling out your own hair in an effort to keep from throttling them & then they make you laugh til you cry.
just simply precious aren’t they?
