You didn’t actually think I’d forget about my own promise to keep up my “30 days of thanks” posts from NaBloPoMo on Thursdays, did you? Puuuuhhhhlease!!!!! You oughtta know me better than that. I’m sure you were hoping I’d forget so that I didn’t pick on you to tell me what you’re thankful for. Okay, I’ll break the icea nd go first…
Today I am thankful for my friend Nicole (a.k.a. “WiNy” which stands for Wisconsin and New York put together, which was how we referred to their trip to come visit us). Nicole and I have been friends for just over a year. We were both pregnant and due in January and are both members of a pregnancy message board. Since we were both due in January we had the opportunity to read messages posted by one another on a daily basis, on a wide array of topics. I don’t remember which post exactly it was, but Nicole had said something about her hubbie and his personality or something and I related to it and could totally see hubbie being the same way. So I private messaged her. And she responded. That private message went on for a couple days maybe, and then we exchanged emails. The email thing still goes on every single day. We email as though we’re instant messaging. Short, brief thoughts, back and forth. Sometimes longer. Anyway, the point is, we hit it off. We hit it off so well in fact that Nicole and her hubbie came to visit this past summer.
Nicole was actually due to have her baby about 10 days before I was due, but I wound up being induced and had Li’l Foot before she had Hilly Bean, but I think when I called Nicole to tell her I was going in, she decided she’d go in too…she wound up having Hilly Bean the day after we had Li’l Foot. What a great way to keep our new friends close…have our babies a day apart.
Since we first started emailing and getting to know each other Nicole and I have shared some fun times, some personal moments, some OMG I am so frustrated with work times but all in all we’ve really grown very close and I love this girl to death. She makes me laugh. She’s so thoughtful and caring and sends me things and sends Li’l Foot things. And hey…we wouldn’t have a dishwasher and a convection oven/microwave from GE if it weren’t for Nicole!!! Okay we may still have those things, but we would’ve paid way more for those two items than we did, since we got Nicole’s friends and family discount.
We’ve started talking about when we would go visit the WiNy family in Wisconsin. I can’t wait to visit them and have them show us around some farms and stuff…teehee!!! Just kidding!
So that is what I am thankful for. Nicole…a very very good friend who keeps me going on a daily basis. Thanks Nicole!
Loving you
LFM

I look forward to every morning being the first to get you that message and sometimes you beat me to it. Who else can I $%^$# about the people I work with too? You know so much about each one of these people, wouldn’t it be fun to meet them? haha Distance is only a matter of miles, but I feel like you’re always right next door. Mua, love ya! xo
