Today in the showcase is my niece Nicaboo!!! I am so thankful for NicaBoo! NicaBoo is Caraboo’s little sister. Like Caraboo, NicaBoo’s birth is so memorable to me. I could never forget when she was born or how old she is because I was a senior in my fall semester of college. My sister had asked me to be in the delivery room with her as well as my mom too. Well NicaBoo’s birth happened to land smack dab in the middle of my night health class. I had a beeper (God, who has those anymore?) and it went off right in the middle of class…praise God for small favors getting me out of the most boring class…ever!!! I raced up to the hospital as fast as my little 2 door, 4 speed, Hundai Excel could take me. This was it, my sister was going to have her 2nd baby and I was honored enough to be there for it.
NicaBoo was born and I was so happy. I was the proud aunt. I still am. NicaBoo is awesome. She has such a little spunk about her. I went to visit them this past summer and she was amazing with Li’l Foot. I think they will forever be soul mates based on the fact that NicaBoo and Li’l Foot both got their ears pierced in the same day!!! It was exciting.
I also had the fortunate opportunity to live with NicaBoo when she was young too and living in my mom’s house. I wouldn’t have traded it for anything. There is a special bond between me and NicaBoo (and her sister) because we shared those young years. I watched NicaBoo grow up. There are so many memories of NicaBoo. I think one of my favorite was a very simple one. It was when NicaBoo was a baby., an infant actually. I was up late at night with her and she needed a bottle. I just remember sitting on the couch with NicaBoo cradled in my arms feeding her a bottle. Her little face was so innocent, so sweet, and so peaceful.
Today NicaBoo is now a big girl, I can’t nestle her into one arm like I did that night so many years ago, but she can still cuddle and I love those moments when she can still crawl in my lap and just cuddle with me. So today, I am thankful for the little moments I have had with NicaBoo over the years. I love you so much NicaBoo!!! You make me proud to be your aunt!!!
Loving you,
Aunt LFM!

She loves you, too!
She put on her Christmas list… “A trip to New York To See Cassie.”
And the first thing she said when we told her we were going was if she’d be able to see Cassie, a lot!
