I don’t go to *Bucks (Starbucks) but maybe once a week perhaps. It’s expensive and I like to treat myself maybe once a week, if that.
So a coworker is in town working in this office today, so we (he and I and this other girl) go to *Bucks for a little mid morning pick us up!!! I ordered what I always order, a Iced, Grande, Decaf, White Chocolate Mocha, light on the ice. My coworker paid, thanks EH…HI (shout out to you on my blog)!!! I step to the side, and wait for the barista to make my beverage. Two other customers beverages come out, and then bliss…there’s mine. And as I always do these days I say to the barista, “It’s decaf right, definitely decaf, RIGHT?” So he responds, “yes” and I continue, “ok, sorry, it’s just that…well…, nevermind, thank you” (I thought I’d spare him the breastfeeding blah blah blah…can’t have caffeine, blah blah blah…baby will be up all night blahity blah blah blah shpiel.) So, I claimed my beverage and walked over to the straws, sugar, milk, etc. No sooner did I insert the straw, and take one sip, I feel a tap tap tap on my shoulder and when I turn around I find a customer who is waiting for his beverage behind me telling me the barista wants my attention. So I go over (and now there’s about 5 other customers standing around waiting for their beverages too who are about to hear the following conversation) and the barista is all, “I’m really sure your drink is decaf, but just to be certain let me make you another one!” and I’m all, “Ummmm…okay, I’m sorry, it’s just that…ummmm…ok…I’m breastfeeding and I really don’t need my baby…well…nevermind” (I’ll just wait over here next to my friends and turn all shades of bright red now that I just announced to the entire *Bucks that I’m a human cow.) And why is it now that I’ve bared all to people at *Bucks about breastfeeding that I feel every pair of eyes is sizing up my rack!!! No people, I haven’t pumped yet today that’s why they are looking rather full instead of all wilty. Can we go back to the office now? Please?

This kid’s been sleepin’ all day! Caffeine might give me someone to play with!

btw… you don’t want to be in line with me at ‘Bucks… Cause the first thing I tell them, after they’re so nice and say hello and all… is “I’m going to be a pain… I want a vente soy hazenut latte, but you have to clean the machine completely before you make it ’cause I’m severely allergic to milk.” Of course ‘severely’ is a bit much, but if you don’t say that, they think ‘ha, I’ll just wipe it down a little, she’ll never know.” The good thing about “Bucks in AL is they don’t have a lot of personnel turnover, so I usually only have to explain to the new people.
Seriously…you are way too high maintenance!!! LOL
